About
Lynne Rienstra

Listeners have described Lynne Rienstra’s teaching as “passionate,” “anointed,” and “a powerful blend of Biblical truth and experiential application.” Her energy mesmerizes, her sensitivity to the Spirit’s work brings healing, and her ability to build bridges from Biblical truth to where listeners really live brings both challenge and encouragement.

Having grown up in a home which was broken twice by divorce, Lynne has seen the Lord use His word, His presence in prayer, and His people to heal and establish her identity in Christ. Her passion is to call women and girls to take steps of faith into God’s Presence, where we “who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into His likeness...” (2 Corinthians 3:18).

Though born in the Midwest, she grew up near Boston. She has also lived in South Jersey, New Hampshire, and on Cape Cod. Lynne’s experiences as pastor’s wife, mother, English teacher, businesswoman, and youth worker combine to help her relate to women on a variety of life paths. Lynne has also spent time abroad in mission fields as diverse as Korea, Kenya, and Slovakia.

Twenty years of counseling women and over ten years of speaking to women across the country have given Lynne a unique view into their hearts. “Many of us believe that God is somehow disappointed with us,” Lynne says. “As long as we continue to believe the lie that God is just putting up with us, we will fall short of becoming the freed and glorious change agents Christ came to make us.  It’s past time for the church of Christ to move beyond giving lip service to the gospel and start preaching – and living – it daily ourselves. The watching world is literally dying to see a body of believers who live who live from their core identity: pardoned, passionate, peerless, and powerful.”

About the challenges faced by women and girls, Lynne writes, “The enemy delights in seeing women and girls bound up by the lies of performance and perfectionism. It’s time for us to rise up as Daughters of Freedom – sure of our identity in Christ and able to walk in the full liberty of the gospel.”

Lynne holds a degree in English from Smith College, and enjoys reviving her high school French and studying voice. She and her husband Rob have two teen children and are presently serving in their third pastorate at Trinity Presbyterian Church (Presbyterian Church in America) in Covington, Georgia.
