You Grow, Girl!

Equipping Mothers and Daughters to Thrive

You Grow, Girl!  is an outreach and discipleship tool that can be used by local churches or individuals. It offers elementary and middle school girls (and their moms) a chance to get started on their faith journey – together.

Get Ready...

Mothers (and spiritual mothers) gather to “prepare the soil” by prayer and planning. They invite unsaved friends and neighbors to join them for the You Grow, Girl! adventure. Youth pastors and women’s ministry leadership seek God’s plans and strategy to grow the kingdom through You Grow, Girl!
Seed Scripture: Zechariah 8:12-13.

Get Set...

Mothers and daughters gather for a special event which introduces the growth/gardening theme and offers the gospel. (The prayer is that God will “germinate” many seeds and “set” them in the soil of His grace.) Girls actually plant a flower seed in soil and take it home to care for it.
Seed Scripture: 1 Corinthians 3:6-7

Grow!

Mothers and daughters gather once a week in a local church (or in homes) to work through seven lessons related to growing in Christ. A speaker/leader takes them through the lesson and then their homework is to prepare for the following week’s lesson. The gathering also includes a fun ice-breaker or game and food. The basic lessons for the seven weeks help girls get planted in Christ, watered in prayer, nurtured in His love,
rooted in their identity and fruitful in His service.

Garden Party: A final celebration in which mothers and daughters get dressed up, enjoy lunch or tea, and decorate their tables with the flowering plants the girls planted seven weeks earlier and have cared for. They also share testimonies of what God has grown in their lives.
Seed Scripture: Psalm 92: 12-13
